In May, Parker and I went camping with the pack at
a Thousand Trails campsite. One of the families
older kids set up our tent for us and once we
got all organized we had a good time. The camp
grounds were very nice, with a lodge, lake, kids
playground, mini-golf area and real
bathrooms. Parker enjoyed his first time
camping.
At the May pack meeting Parker advanced to
the rank of Bear cub.
In June the cub scouts have their week long
Twilight Camp. This years theme was the Wild West.
There was a canon demonstration as well as a lot of fun
activities and crafts, like basket weaving, whittling and
making Native American headbands.
This is Parker's bone he whittled out of soap.
This year Parker was strong enough to cock the
bb gun all by himself.
The cub scouts had a soccer clinic at the park and
Parker did really well, he ran all over after the ball
and nearly made a goal his first try.
At the Raingutter Regatta, the scouts raced their
homemade boats as well as played some fun water
games. Parker came in 2nd place with his boat.
Camping looked so fun. We didn't go this year. Maybe next year Parker can go with us. Congratulations on second place. Love the t-shirts.
ReplyDeleteI can't help but think of all the skills Parker is learning that will be helpful for the rest of his life and having a lot of fun learning them.
