December Doings

Here are some more of our activities and
celebrations during December.

Parker's den worked on their Handyman
activity badge by learning how to change a
tire, check oil pressure and wash a car.

Santa came through the neighborhood while
we were outside working.  He visits all of Rocklin
during December, riding on a city fire truck
and his helpers hand out candy canes.  It is
always a awesome sight to see.

Hayley invited some of her college friends over
for her annual Christmas party. This year it was
an ugly Christmas sweater party.
We love having her friends over.  It is
always a lot of fun.  They play games, eat, and
this year had a white elephant gift exchange.

Parker is always right in there playing the games with
the kids (uh, I mean adults, they are in college after all).
They are pretty used to him by now. He has been doing
this at Hayley's parties since he was 3.

Everybody in their "ugly Christmas sweaters".

Our December pack meeting is always a lot of fun,
with festive crafts for the boys to make, a funny
slide show where we made the boys look like
elves, and delicious christmas treats. Plus pictures
with Santa and to top it off a snowball fight.

That's Parker in this slide.  While ringing
the Salvation Army bell and generous donor
came up and I got a picture of him with
Parker.  He was a funny guy.

Parker's den singing "Deck the Halls".
Here comes Santa! He arrived in one
of our soapbox derby cars.

We used about 8 reams of copy paper to
make all these snowballs.  The boys just
go crazy.  And thanks to RC Willey for
the empty refrigerator boxes they gave us
for the boys to hide in.

Hannah, David and Parker spent an evening
building a gingerbread house.  They had a
lot of fun decorating it.

On Christmas Eve we all went to Olive Garden for
dinner.  It's become a family tradition. After, we came
home, the kids each opened a gift and then
Hannah's boyfriend, David, came over and we
all watched a Christmas movie.

Tim reading the Christmas story from Luke.
A tradition he picked up from his family
and does every year.

Some of my Christmas decorations this year.

My newest addition.  I picked this up at the
Boy Scout Store in Sacramento. I just loved it.

Hannah gave David that hat for Christmas
and he liked it so much he put it right on.

After everyone was asleep, Santa filled all
the stockings then took this picture.
Sneaky old Santa.
