Our trip to Santa Cruz - Day 1

We decided for our first family vacation in 8 years to go to Santa Cruz.  We arrived around 3 pm and checked into our hotel.  We stayed at the Hilton Scotts Valley, which was a really beautiful hotel about 6 miles from Santa Cruz.

 

 

 The kids had their own room which was great. 

You definitely need 2 bathrooms with 5 people.

 After settling in we drove down to the Santa Cruz Wharf to walk around and have dinner.

 It is a little hard to see but the pier was filled with sea lions swimming around and lazing on the piers.

Christmas Day

The kids were up early to open their gifts from Santa and then we all went into

the living room to start opening gifts. 

We took a break for breakfast and had waffles 

and sausage.

Then returned to opening presents.

 Doreen made everyone a knitted hat.

 Jonathan and Chris made Hayley a holder for her

key chain collection.
